◼ Powerful and easy to use built-in webcam controller - Softpedia
◼ TODAY’S APP 31st MAY 2012 - ONE DAY ONE APP
★★★★★ Thank You … Works Great!
by Perezohana - Version 1.1 - Jun 26, 2012 (US Mac App Store)
Thank you … your app really helped me adjust my webcam so that my Skype sessions were "visible" to the other party instead of the usuall dark images that were being transmitted due to my rooms lighting. FIVE STARS for a great app.
★★★★★ Works as advertised
by darkfreq - Version 1.0 - Jun 18, 2012 (US Mac App Store)
I have a lot of backlight in my office and this did the trick. Solved my problems for my video conferencing.
Sight Control will allow you to easily adjust the image quality in real time while using webcam apps such as Skype or FaceTime.
Sight Control will automatically identify Mac's built-in webcams, including Built-in iSight, Display iSight, FaceTime Camera (Built-in), FaceTime Camera (Display), FaceTime HD Camera (Built-in) and FaceTime HD Camera (Display).
Sight Control communicates with Mac’s built-in webcams and learns what settings they can support.
- Auto-Exposure Mode
- Exposure Time
- Gain
- Aperture
- Brightness
- Contrast
- Hue
- Saturation
- Sharpness
- Gamma
- White Balance Temperature
- Power Line Frequency
- Backlight Composition
True hardware level control
- Instead of post processing already captured images from your webcam and apply filter to those images to create similar effects. Sight Control directly communicates with your webcam and adjusts hardware control values.
Works with almost every webcam app
- iChat, Messages
- Photo Booth
- FaceTime
- iMovie
- QuickTime Player/QuickTime Player 7
- Skype and many other 3rd party apps
*Sight Control works with Mac’s built-in webcam only, Sight Control does not work with iSight connected via FireWire.

Does this work with Go To Meeting?
ReplyDeleteYes, I have one user comment from Germany,
Delete"Nutze oft GoToMeeting, aber über die eingebaute Kamera sieht alles ziemlich lila aus. Mit diesem Tool kann man das einwandfrei korrigieren. Läuft ohne Probleme unter Mountain Lion."
Apple's translation tool translate like this,
"Often use GoToMeeting, but looks rather purple over the inserted camera all. With this tools one can correct that perfectly. Runs without problems under Mountain Lion."
Google Translate,
"Often use GoToMeeting, but the built-in camera, everything looks quite purple. With this tool you can adjust the sound. Running with no problems at Mountain Lion."
Great program! It took me 3 seconds to make an adjustment that fixed all the unflattering "auto" settings. Well worth the price.
DeleteThank you for the quick reply! I purchased it.
ReplyDeletedownloaded but all sliders are frozen except the briteness slider...any thoughts on why all is frozen?
ReplyDeleteCan you tell me what camera you are using? Please email me at mactaris@mac.com, I will be able to respond faster through email. Thanks.
DeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteon my laptop, the Gain settings are not available -
Gain is greyed out,
I revert to using cam in black and white mode, desaturated.
the image is still very dark and grainy as before using the app
The other thing which users have mentioned,
is that the settings dont get saved.
for instance when switching chat rooms or skype sessions.
problem: Gain is greyed out
Computer - Macbook Air,
camera - built in camera
OS -10.8.2
Your built in camera does not support Gain from its hardware therefore it's grayed out. Does it support Aperture? It it does, you can click the [+1] button and the image should get brighter. Another choice is to switch the Auto-Exposure Mode to Manual and then increase Exposure Time. This can also make the image brighter.
DeleteThere is a new version 1.2 coming soon. It has been sent to Apple for review and should be online in 2 weeks.
In version 1.2 you can save presets and load back manually.
It will also remember current setting and load back automatically the next time you launch the app.
If you would like to test the new version now, please sent me an email at mactaris@mac.com. Thanks.
Hi,
ReplyDeleteI downloaded Sight Control for my iMac, OS X 10.6.8. It worked once, but now I can no longer open it. Computer reboot makes no difference - clicking on the app or right-clicking and selecting "open" does nothing. Help please.
Thanks.
Can you check the FAQ #1 and see if it helps you on this issue?
DeleteHi. I am using this App to create infinite white backgrounds for my Youtube videos. So far it looks amazing, but it slows down Final Cut and iMovie immensely. Sometimes the videos become almost frozen, and at their best, they are skippy and delayed.
ReplyDeleteI have 16 GB of Ram, and I have about 12 left to use when running either program, so that's not the issue...
Do you mean the iSight video preview slows down in Final Cut and iMovie? Are you using [Manual Exposure Mode]? If so, what's the [Exposure Time] settings looks like?
DeleteCan you please send me an email mactaris@mac.com, it will allow me to reply to you more effectively. Thank you very much.
I think so, I sent an email (jpkeene@gmail.com)
ReplyDeleteDoes this work with Microsoft Lync?
ReplyDeleteI have not personally tested with Microsoft Lync, there shouldn't be any problem with it. If you found any issue with Microsoft Lync, please send me an email so I can help me solve the issue. Thank you very much.
Delete謝謝陳先生! Thanks for creating this software. Would it be possible to control two USB cams?
ReplyDelete感謝!
Both Sight Control and Webcam Settings support more then one cameras. You can switch camera from the top most popup menu in the panel. If you like my app, may I ask you to leave a review on the Mac App Store? I supposed you are living in Taiwan also. How about send me an email and we can go to have a cup of coffee? :)
DeleteIs there a way to purchase this outside of the Mac App Store?
ReplyDeleteI'd gladly pay $4.99 via paypal since I am not allowed to sync my credit card online.
Hi,
ReplyDeleteDoes it work in mavericks?
Yes, it works fine in Mavericks.
DeleteI accidentally purchased this item while browsing through my computer's App Store..
ReplyDeleteAs I have only just upgraded to the system which now included this feature, I am somewhat a novice at it.
After logging in when I opened the app and coming across this app, I clicked on the arrow button that connects with the "buy" price AND the damn thing started downloading and I could do nothing to stop it.
I then opened this app to find that THE ONLY feature that works in the WHOLE app was Gamma. I tested this in 4 other applications.
Even went to this website to check why, meet every single specification and requirement, I have built-in isight which works flawlessly in ALL apps.
After politely requesting a refund for this product 3 times, that I did not mean to purchase, do NOT need or want and does NOT work in any way that this description describes it WILL, I was refused a refund. This application is fraudulent and extorts money from innocent people.
They have charged me $6.99 for a product that I cannot use...! DISGUSTED AT THEIR GREED
I am sorry to hear this, did Apple refuse to refund you for 3 times? Please sent me an email at mactaris@mac.com and let me know your PayPal account. I will refund you personally.
Deleteis it compatible with OSX 10.10 plz ?

ReplyDeleteMy MacBook Pro (13") Retina (2015 model) appears to be incompatible with Sight Control as many of the controls are greyed out. Can you confirm the app is fully compatible with this Mac and how I can enable the other controls
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteI downloaded the app version 2.0 (paid App Store) and the control panel just let me vary:
- brightness
- saturation
- sharpness
- gamma (1.0 - 2.2)
and the upper tabs to choose the camera (I have only integrated iSight) and the 2 lower tabs "read auto setting from webcam, write every setting to webcam"
I have an iMac 17 "2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, Bus 667MHz, 2GB Ram, OS 10.6.8 Snow Leopard and I have tried the app sight control: Quicktime, Skype, Photo Booth and Hanghouts with the same results.
Why the other settings are not activated? I wanted to control the exposure and white balance. Please give me a solution.
I hope your answer,
Aldo
If you could provide digital zoom on the product I would buy it now.
ReplyDeleteNeed it to zoom to a white board when presenting in meeting room.
Like Martyn Williams has commented - i also have the 13" Macbook Pro 2015 and most of the settings are greyed out, like white balance. This is irritating, but as its a new model, i can understand if the software has not recognised the image sensor in this. If you need me to dump any specific data from the camera etc, or find strings that might be necessary to rectify this - please let me know.
